And so it begins again
New Beginnings
So it’s been four months since I ended my run at Night Market and it has been three months since I started work on this website.
For those of you actually know me, like, for real, not through instagram or television, or casually through a friend, you all know what I’ve been up to. For all of the rest of you, the quick answer of what I’ve been up to, is, not too much. I’ve been taking a little time off to think about myself and my next steps in life, what I want out of life, and how to get there. I’ve done a fair amount of networking and soul searching.
When it comes down to it, I haven’t come up with anything ground breaking. I know I love cooking. I love feeding people. I love learning and playing. At one point, I thought I would open a restaurant of my own, but it doesn’t seem to be the wisest financial move at the moment given the current state of real estate, labor, wages, cost of goods, etc. Restaurants were never an easy business, but in today’s climate, I wonder how any of them survive, or at least any of the restaurants that are small independent eateries survive.
So for now, I’m planning on living the mercenary life for a while. I may try to work for a pal here and a pal there. I’ll do private dinners and classes, but I’m essentially taking some time off from the major hustle that is the restaurant game.
